In the globally challenging year 2020 Busan Container Terminal awarded Conductix-Wampfler to provide their engineered energy supply and data transmission systems for the moving port equipment being part of the terminal expansions 2-4 and 2-5.
In total Conductix-Wampfler is to supply more than 130 motor-driven cable reels and 70 heavy-duty I-beam festoon systems for the reliable and sustainable power supply of 78 ARMG and 21 STS cranes in both terminals. Delivery, installation, and commissioning extends over the years 2020 and 2021.
With its latest VFD cable reel type KHD Conductix-Wampfler will ensure smooth terminal operations 24/7 with highest crane availability thanks to the proven system components field-tested in harshest port environments. This hardware is paired with a superior software design for lowest cable pull with the effect of a extended service life of the cables.
Conductix-Wampfler festoon systems are widely used in container terminals around the globe since years and have proven as first-grade technology for main trolley supply on cranes. Their outstanding lifetime as well as the operational behaviour in the most difficult climate conditions make them still the most reliable technology on the market.
Managing this project is challenging from various points of view: four different OEMs in two countries supported by three different sales offices. However, with its global footprint and the long-term partnership with Korean company HaeRyung Co. Ltd. Conductix-Wampfler is ideally set up to provide the ideal system solutions for the customer.
Throughout the whole project Conductix-Wampfler and HaeRyung Co. Ltd. will support Busan Container Terminal to once again put the global mission of Conductix-Wampfler – to keep their customers vital business moving – into practice.
